Anderson Cooper, the host of CNNs “AC 360” and one of the most respected journalists in the world, competed May 17, 2016 on celebrity "Jeopardy!". The winner of the show would take home $50,000 for the charity of their choice with second and third place each receiving $10,000.

AC was competing on behalf of our good friends at Spike's K9 Fund. You may remember back in January when he give a "very substantial" donation to Spikes to allow them to purchase over 40 K9 Storm Patrol Swat Vests for police dogs in and around the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

AC battled it out against 60 Minutes Reporter Lara Logan, and former RNC Chair Michael Steele. The game went down to the wire, with Logan having a slight advantage over AC heading into final Jeopardy. The category was "Countries of the World". The question - “This country’s 2 main ethnic groups are Punjabi (who are also found in India) & Pashtun (also living in Afghanistan)”.

Both AC and Logan nailed the correct answer, Pakistan (sorry, sorry…”What is Pakistan”). AC risked it all and doubled up his score, putting him in first place momentarily. In the end, a victory wasn't meant to be, as Logan bet just enough to finish atop the leader board and take home the $50,000 prize for her charity.

Even though AC didn't win the main $50,000 prize, after the show he pledged to donate an additional $40,000 to Spikes to make up the difference that he could have potentially won for the charity! So Anderson Cooper DID win, and so did Spikes. What an incredible story and amazing act of kindness.
